Making the Ormond Chore Coat

Process pics from the making this month’s work project over at In The Folds, the Ormond Chore Coat.

For anyone interested in sewing their own, I made a full sewalong over on Curated by In The Folds, along with tutorials covering tips for sewing with heavyweight fabric, contrast topstitching, using a walking presser foot, perfecting buttonholes and machine sewing on buttons.

I also delve back through the history of the chore coat as a staple workwear garment, and include loads of other inspirational posts such as choosing the perfect fabric and unique ideas for customisation.

I put the spotlight on the sewing technique of underlining and teach you what on earth a humpjumer is and how to use it!
